During Spring 2024, W. Bro. Paul Marshall volunteered to take part in the Mendip Challenge, a walk of up to 30 miles along the West Mendip Way from Wells to Weston Super Mare in aid of Weston Hospicecare. When the members of Priory Lodge 6913 and Somerset Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge 9189 became aware of his plan, they resolved to support him in his laudable goal.

Despite Paul’s plans being slightly scuppered by an injured leg, the two Lodges combined to give a joint donation of £700 to the Hospice, with W. Bro. George Pittaway, WM of Priory Lodge and W. Bro. Darren Herbert, WM of Grand Stewards Lodge and regular supporter of Priory Lodge taking the time to travel to Weston to present their cheques.

Kirsty Simmons, the Community Fundraising Manager for Weston Hospice care said “From the bottom of our hearts thank you for you kindness and raising a lovely amount of money to help continue with our care for patients and their families”.
